The aim of the unit is for students to understand how forest fires start and develop, as well as the factors that influence their behavior. They will learn about the characteristics of the Mediterranean climate and the main plant communities, discovering how plants adapt to fire.

Through maps and data, they will identify areas of increased risk, linking scientific knowledge with practical prevention strategies. Finally, they will examine the environmental, social and economic consequences of fires, recognizing that fire can act as both a natural factor of renewal and a threat.
